Int'l Weather Offices

You know how we have the National Weather Service here in the United States, right? Of course you did. Have you ever wondered if other countries have a similar service, with public information? You betcha I have, at least

I had a few countries' weather services in my bookmarks (Canada, Bermuda, Mexico), but I've never had a comprehensive list of international weather bureaus. Well, I did just that this afternoon. Here's a very incomplete list of some international weather offices, organized by region. You can find the entire list from the WMO here.

Many of these weather bureaus have their own radar systems, so they are invaluable when hurricanes threaten (keep an eye on Bermuda's radar as Hurricane Danielle passes by). If you don't speak Spanish, French or Portuguese (the languages of some of the bureaus), "radar" looks the same in all three languages ("radar" in French and "radares" in Sp. and Port.).
