World's Largest Hailstone?

Thanks to @Misha44_ for alerting me to this.

The National Weather Service says that potentially world's largest hailstone fell yesterday in South Dakota. The stone was 8 inches in diameter and 19 inches in circumference -- comparable to a basketball.

The Examiner:
The stone fell in South Dakota on July 26th. The hail storm is reported to have left “craters in the ground”, and smashed car windshields with ease.
I freaked out over a quarter-sized hailstorm a few months ago -- I can't imagine a storm like this.
