Tropical Depression THREE -- Florida/Gulf Threat

Tropical Depression THREE has formed near the Bahamas this afternoon as of the 2PM advisory from the National Hurricane Center.

ABOUT 400 MI...650 KM ESE OF KEY LARGO FLORIDA
MAXIMUM SUSTAINED WINDS...35 MPH...55 KM/HR
PRESENT MOVEMENT...WNW OR 295 DEGREES AT 15 MPH...24 KM/HR
MINIMUM CENTRAL PRESSURE...1008 MB...29.77 INCHES

A TROPICAL STORM WARNING is in effect for all of the Bahamas.

A TROPICAL STORM WARNING is in effect for Florida's east coast from Golden Beach southward, the entire Florida Keys and Florida Bay, and the west coast of Florida northward to Bonita Beach.

A TROPICAL STORM WATCH is in effect from Golden Beach, FL to Jupiter Inlet, FL, including Lake Okeechobee.

Here is the projected path of Tropical Depression Three, from the NHC. Click the image for the latest from the Hurricane Center. The storm is expected to turn into and remain a tropical storm for the next few days before landfall somewhere along the northern Gulf coast...but this system could change in the blink of an eye.





A Hurricane Hunter aircraft is currently en route to the system and will report back with the latest information later this afternoon. Everyone on the Gulf Coast needs to keep an eye on this storm.
