Hurricane Karl, the 6th hurricane of the 2010 Atlantic Hurricane Season, is about to make landfall north of Alvarado, Mexico as a Category 3 with 120 MPH winds. The storm made landfall the Yucatan Peninsula on Wednesday morning as a strong tropical storm with 65 MPH winds.
The main threats with Karl are incredibly heavy rains which could cause fatal mudslides and flooding, extremely strong winds, and tornadoes on the northern half of the storm.
Karl is one of three hurricanes in the Atlantic basin right now, with Igor churning towards Bermuda, and a weakening Julia curving out and dying at sea.
